Darrick Minner fell victim to an injury without the first kick he threw at UFC Vegas 64 and Shayilan Nuerdanbieke took full wholesomeness with a first-round TKO.
Darrick Minner of the GLORY MMA gym looked to rebound from the first losing streak of his unshortened decade-long MMA career as he fought China’s own Shayilan Nuerdanbieke at UFC Vegas 64. Nuerdanbieke came in on a two-fight winning streak without dropping his debut in the Octagon.
These two veterans of the sport have extremely wide-stretching resumes. Minner having 39 fights on his record and Nuerdanbieke having 37 fights. It was interesting to see who had increasingly miles left in the tank and whose wits was increasingly valuable.
Darrick Minner came right out of the gate with nonflexible leg kicks. On one of the kicks, he seemed to hurt his leg or foot, perhaps due to his foot landing on the hipbone of Nuerdanbieke. Minner then grabbed at his leg and then limped when to the fence. He threw flipside kick with the same leg, but then Nuerdanbieke threw a dial and Minner fell to his back. It did not take long for the ground and pound to gravity referee Mark Smith to step in and stop the fight, giving Nuerdanbieke his third subsequent win.
